About Us
Our Chamber's vision is to
be the business voice of Greater Reading to
advocate on your behalf regarding issues that
impact your business. The Chamber has been an
effective liaison over the years between local
business, elected officials and community
leaders. The Greater Reading Chamber is a
pro-active force in shaping the legislative
agenda. Speaking as one voice, Chamber members
have the power to strengthen the prosperity of
the business community. We have access to
policymakers and sponsor programs and events to
keep our members informed and a part of pending
legislation.
As we work together to
take a stand for businesses and our community,
we realize the need to offer relevant
information to help you make prudent decisions
in the political process. The Advocacy section
of our website is an interactive tool for
election information, nonpartisan civic
participation and grassroots advocacy designed
to mobilize Chamber members regarding upcoming
issues and valuable election news.
On
this site, you can register to vote, apply for
an absentee ballot, learn more about
candidates, locate where you go to vote,
contact your elected officials and much more.
You are able to join the Chamber’s Grassroots
Network and independently contact your
legislators to advocate issues important to
you.
I encourage you to actively voice
your opinion as legislative activity has
increased with the new President setting his
policy agenda for significant change.
Energy, Health Care Reform, Cap &
Trade along with Workforce legislation is
currently being debated. Stay
Connected for updates from the Chamber and Take
Action when most appropriate.
Sincerely,
Gail A.
Landis
