Precision Machining Occupations Briefing

Feedback from area employers indicates that our most critical skills gap lies in skilled precision machining occupations. While we are blessed with capable Machine Shop/CNC programs at our CTCs and RACC, the programs continually experience open capacity and are not producing nearly enough new entrants into these occupations to meet current and future demand. If you are an employer of these occupations, you know that there is and has been difficulty in recruiting for a skilled workforce.

In an effort to get a better handle on the scope of this gap, we are utilizing a brief survey that will help us quantify your current and long-term recruiting needs. Results will be shared with meeting participants.

Please click here to take the survey.

Is your company experiencing difficulty recruiting Precision Machinists and CNC Operators? If you think it’s bad now, wait until you see what the future COULD hold!

You are cordially invited to attend a Precision Machining Briefing that will examine, inform, and discuss the present and future status of these High Priority Occupations.

Precision Machining Briefing

Your input is vital to the development of cohesive initiatives leading to beneficial outcomes that will help equalize the pipeline vs. demand. Innovative training models for short and long-term solutions will be discussed. Please make a commitment to attend or designate a representative in order to insure your company’s voice is heard. Attendance is free. RSVP with your attendance plans to rstevenson@bccl.org by January 30, 2014.
